Robert Schanz

Owner of DomiRacer distributor of vintage British and European motorcycle parts. Created an ordering system that became an industry standard.

Robert “Bob” Schanz, a former editor of Cycle magazine, is best known for founding DomiRacer-Accessory Mart, which supplied vintage motorcycle parts with the business philosophy of providing fast, efficient service.

Born in 1930, Schanz founded his primary company, DomiRacer Distributors, Inc., in 1969 to sell spare vintage parts, reproductions and even complete motorcycles to customers around the world. He recreated almost 500 different parts for vintage bikes.

The company continues to exist today in Cincinnati, focusing primarily on British and European motorcycles from the 1930s through the 1980s. It maintains an inventory of thousands of parts.

Schanz died in 2003.
